32GI Sports Chews are energy gel alternatives that deliver 132 calories per packet. They also follow the company philosophy of providing steady low GI energy. The shape of the chews are pre-formatted so that they could be consumed in 4 smaller bites which are called blocks.
My quick takeaway: The chews taste like jelly candy and the performance is on par with other top gel products I’ve tried. I like the fact that the chews retained their consistency throughout my four-hour run. Unlike traditional energy gels – the entire content comes out of the packet completely. After consumption, there was no sticky pack with gel residue on it lingering in your pocket.
What are 32GI Sports Chews – marketing claims
32Gi Sports Chews are energy-dense jelly (jello-like) blocks designed to help sustain stable energy during long-duration activities.
The marketers of 32GI Sports Chews claim that unlike other gels, the chews are easy to eat, won’t get stuck in your teeth or block your airways, and won’t melt, making them convenient to use on the go. Based on my experience, the blocks do live up to the claim. I do think the marketers are a little harsh on gels which are also designed for easy consumption.
Interestingly, the chews are developed around the banana, which is a known endurance fuel, and have emulated the sugar response and caloric values of two ripe medium-sized bananas. In our analysis of the banana vs energy gels, we discussed the shortcoming of the fruit being its caloric density.
The label of the sports chews prominently displays the underlying fuel of the blocks are glucose, sucrose, and Palatinose. The trio of sugars are described as multi-transportable carbohydrates which contribute to the lower glycemic index of the energy chews.
Additionally the sports chews don’t have any artificial additives nor any banned WADA substances.

Packaging and transportability of 32GI Sports Chews
I was pleasantly surprised to find the chews retained their jelly-like quality throughout a four-hour run. I ate three packs and they stayed intact and did not melt.
Although the company claims that the chews could be consumed in parts – as in 1/4 at a time – I would need to open the package more cleanly and then be a little more considerate about carrying them safely.
I ate the four blocks (one 50 g package) at a time. One pack every hour for the duration of my 4 hour easy flat run.
My final thoughts on the experience with 32GI Sports Chews
I was quite happy with the 32GI Sports Chews. They are a nice alternative to standard energy gels, giving you something different to chew on (literally).
The flavors are similar to jelly candy but not overly sweet or too tart.
I never felt hungry or lacking energy during my four-hour experience. I never felt any crazy boost of energy either.
