We first learned about chia when reading the best selling Born to Run. The book spends a good deal time documenting the running tribe of Central America, the Tarahumaras. The Tarahumaras are famous for running ultra marathon distances when traveling between their villages. They are also known for eating chia as sustenance during their runs.
Aside from the legends surrounding chia, we now know that there are many more reasons to make chia part of your diet.
